Happy Birthday Casher!

Welcome to the world Casher!  Born this morning at 9:30AM.  Baby boy.  Casher David Kouba.  He weighs seven pounds even.

Kari and Mitch are doing great.  Kari is recovering and Mitch it down in the NICU with Casher.  I will be posting photos momentarily.

More information about Casher's surgery should be coming this afternoon.

We are in room 1110 at Presbyterian Saint Luke.  We will let you know when Kari is feeling up for visitors.

Thank you for your prayers.  Please keep them coming!

The big day is tomorrow!

Mitch and I are relaxing today doing some last minute things to get ready for tomorrow. But mostly relaxing, praying, and enjoying the moment.

The cesarean is tomorrow at 9 am (Mountain time). We will be at Presbyterian St. Lukes. Please continue to check the blog for updates as we plan to update it frequently, especially right after the baby is born and over the next few days and weeks.

Thank you for praying with us and loving us.

Love,

Kari & Mitch

Counting down...

Well, of course I had to share these photos from the ultrasound yesterday. They are too incredible. The baby is doing great and there is just one more ultrasound to go before the delivery date. We are counting down! Please continue to pray with us for my surgery and recovery, the doctor and surgeons' wisdom, Baby Paisley's successful surgery and quick recovery, and our continued faith in God's provision throughout it all. Love, Kari

The date is set - July 16th!

Well the cesarean date has been set and Baby Paisley will be born on July 16th at 9:00 am! Dr. Farkouh will do the surgery at Presbyterian St. Lukes and the specialists and pediatric surgeon are all set to take care of the baby, too.

The great news is that Dr. Farkouh thinks that Mitch and I will get a few minutes to spend with the baby before Paisley is taken off to the NICU. That's if Baby Paisley is stable and doing ok. I wasn't expecting to get to hold the baby at all directly following the cesarean, so we will be praying for that, too. After Paisley is born, Mitch will stay right by his/her side and go to the NICU. At that time the neonatologist and pediatric surgeon will evaluate how Paisley is doing and when they can do the surgery. Meanwhile I will be in recovery from my surgery and I'm sure anxiously waiting to be with the baby and Mitch in the NICU.

I keep thinking about how the bible says god has planned the time of our birth and our death and his plan is perfect!
